In 4th week
lecture our lovely madam, give us an explanation on “Operant conditioning”.
What is “Operant conditioning”?
Operant
Conditioning
Operant conditioning/ instrumental conditioning is a method
of learning through rewards and punishments for behavior. Discovered by
behaviorist B. F. Skinner. He believed that
thinking and motivations could not be used to explain behavior. He suggested,
we should look only at the observable behavior.

Actually we had an activity to
do, but Madam started the class by explaining the differences between classical
and operant conditioning so that we can identify the mistakes that we had made
in our story on classical conditioning. After that we got the ‘aha’ moment and
started to understand the differences between then and madam gave us time to
correct the mistakes. So then, in the next class we can go ahead with the group
activity!
